Within John Doyle Construction we fully recognise both our legal and moral obligation regarding the health, safety and welfare of our direct employees our subcontractors and others who may be affected by our work activities. To this end, a comprehensive Safety Management System has been developed. 

A system which is strictly monitored by the Group Safety Department is issued to all Line Management and when required, is made available to others working for the Company.  The overall SMS has been prepared to illustrate how the Company propose to manage health, safety and welfare and to meet the requirements of current legislation, Codes of Practice and Safety Guidance documents whilst undertaking their work activities.  Within these procedures a great deal of emphasis is placed on planning the implementation of safe systems of work and the training of its workforce. 

Each employee is individually assessed to establish their specific training requirements.  John Doyle Construction were one of the first in the concrete frame industry to realise the language difficulties arising from the influx of people of many different nationalities who were starting to work on construction sites within the UK.  As a consequence, the Doyle Plc Safety Department produced a series of induction booklets in more than twenty different languages. To supplement this prior to commencement of work, training sessions are organised for non English-speaking employees to ensure they understand safety related issues specific to their individual activities.

Company policy dictates that there is a ratio of at least one English-speaking employee to each working gang to ensure that instructions, both written and verbal, are clearly understood.
